Summertime...and the livin's easy.

Yeah, I figure I might as well title this blog post with lyrics from a Sublime song. It has been forever since I have posted on this thing, and really, I am kind of just posting to make a certain friend of mine happy...yes, you Megan!

I guess since it has been forever since I have posted I will play a little bit of catch up... The sad part about this all is that I haven't taken hardly any pictures this summer so far..which is very weird for me! I usually take a million pictures! But that's okay!

Soo, we will start at the beginning of summer...the night of our last day of school, Jacqui, Abbie and I celebrated..

when I found these cute pink shot glasses at the $ store, I couldn't resist..

This was the perfect way to end the school semester... even though for me and Abbie, summer school started up again the following Monday! We are just really dedicated to becoming teachers asap. We decided to take the PE for Elem. Teachers class during a one week period. This class is usually taught during a semester, but we did it in one week. It was pretty crazy. There were many times during that week that we questioned our sanity, but we made it through, and both managed to get A's! So I would say it was worth it! Luckily, after the PE class was over, I had a few weeks off before I started my other summer school class.

During this break I spent a lot of time doing things such as...

Playing with bubbles with my adorable niece Taylor :)

Bonfires with friends (Me and Amy 'trying' Jon and Patricks banana boats...
Patrick forgot to put chocolate chips in it, so it sort of tasted like a potato haha)

Riding the 4 wheeler with my bro Tyler

Shopping with the Girls (Me, Tay, Mom, and Brooke)

Shooting a red rider b b gun!

And taking a quick trip to Logan with Amy

Sadly, I had to return to Logan for summer school. Luckily it is only an 8 week session, and I only have 3 weeks and 3 days left. But who's counting? I am student teaching in the Child Development Lab on campus aka, the preschool. Anyone who knows me knows that I love children, and that I have previously worked in childcare/preschool settings...but preschool just isn't my favorite thing. I am definitely just trying to learn all that I can from this experience, even though it is hard to stay positive. I actually have enjoyed the children in my class...some of them are so cute I can't stand it! And I have even made a pretty good friend with one of the other student teachers! I am just glad I only have to student teach there for 3 credits! I am currently working on writing my lesson plan for my head teaching week on farming/gardening...so if anyone has any great ideas for that let me know :)

While I have been in Logan I have been enjoying the nice warm weather, taco Tuesday, and seeing friends! I went and hiked the wind caves for the first time (shocking, since I have lived here for 2 years) with my old roommate Ali! It was really fun and so pretty!

View from the wind caves

Me at the top... its so gorgeous!

Ali and I during the hike!

July has been a good month so far! I love the 4th of July, and since it was on a Sunday, the holiday seemed to extend throughout the weekend! I got to go to the Logan fireworks on the 2nd, spend all day on the 3rd at Bear Lake with friends, my family drove up to Logan on the 4th for a visit and to drop off my sister, and then on the 5th there were fireworks in Hyrum! My sister got to spend the week of the 5th with me in Logan, so we went to the fireworks in Hyrum with a few of my friends. The fireworks were so close to us it was amazing. Being from Salt Lake, Brooke and I have never seen fireworks so close before...we were shocked that we could even see the people that were setting them off! It was definitely fun!

It was really fun to have Brooke spend the week with me in Logan, its weird not having her here now.

HUGE mirrors at Hobby Lobby!

Taking a picture for mom :) (Thanks Ali for taking it)

Sitting by the A

Brooke jumping off the A! She was a pro!

And here is Jacqui and I jumping off the A last summer just for fun!
We are obviously not as professional as Brooke.

That is pretty much a catch up on my summer so far! Maybe I'll update this thing more, maybe not! Who really ever knows. But as of today I am loving these two things...

I can't stop reading this! (Which doesn't help the lesson plan writing)
I suggest reading this if you haven't.
It's extremely addicting.
Of course, start by reading the first book in the series, The Hunger Games.

Lapis of Luxury nail polish by Essie.
Not a color I would usually buy, but I love it!
It reminds me of summer. And cotton candy.

I will end this blog post with something exciting. I passed the Praxis!! On my first try :) I was pretty thrilled, since I was about 95% sure that I failed it! For those of you who don't know, the Praxis is the teacher licensure test, and is a pretty big deal! Yay for not having to spend another $80 to retake it!!

Happy Summer Everyone :)
